Applique

Flowers to Dry   (10"x12"x1")
This small linen "finger tip" towel becomes a lovely work of art when finished in the "Suzi's Hang Art" method. Suzi repaired the frayed applique flowers and quilted the piece. The slim peach border unifies the delicate art piece.
Batic

Gunter's Dance
  (20"x22"x1")
A dear friend asked me to frame this batic for him. The orange border was added to blend it with a second piece that he commissioned me to complete for him. Although the process is quick, the time spent consulting and sewing the borders on a commissioned piece add to the value of the art work.

Candlewicking

Candlewicking    (14"x14"x1")
Suzi did this candlewicking about 20 years ago. She finally spent about an hour adding the 4 navy triangles and the navy borders, thus creating a square piece that can be finished in the "Suzi's Hang Art" method.

This is another garage sale find. The "Suzi's Hang Art" method is the perfect framing method for plastic canvas craft. You'll have some lovely wall art to enjoy with this economical and quick method completed.

Crewel

Quilts by Suzi
   (18"x22"x1")
This crewel stitchery was a gift to Suzi from two of her sisters, Marion and Janet. They had each spent over 20 hours, and Suzi spent another 20 hours to complete the crewel stitchery. It was tucked away and nine years later, Suzi spent one hour finally finishing it so it can now hang on her wall. Suzi has many "found" crewel pieces that she will be including in the web page.

Crocheting

Lorraine's Girls   (15"x19"x1")
These charming crocheted girls are from Lorraine's treasures. Suzi attached them to the muslin, quilted the background, and finished it in the "Suzi's Hang Art" method. Lorraine has cut Suzi's hair for 18 years and has gifted Suzi with four lovely 120 year old quilt tops.
Doily's

Elvera’s Doily   (20"x20"x1")
Suzi pinned and tacked all the points of this old doily found in her mother-in-law’s collection.The center was never inserted. After quilting the background it was finished in the "Suzi’s Hang Art" method and preserved as family art. The way you finish your heirlooms will better ensure that they will be passed on to loved ones.
Feltwork

Wonder Room

Suzi took a creative felt workshop from Jean Ray Laury in 1978 and made this piece to display in her studio. After 20 years, it finally was attached to black fabric and finished it in the "Suzi's Hang Art" method.

 

Hanky's

Belgium Beauty   (17"x17"x1")
Suzi pinned and tacked the points of this exquisite old Belgium lace hanky. After quilting the background she finished it off in the "Suzi’s Hang Art" method, which preserves it as family art. Suzi has two more lovely hanky's just about ready to be framed. One special one has 1-1/2" of tatting on all four sides.
Hardanger

Hardanger I   (24"x24"x1")
This 100 year old piece of Norwegian hardanger is done on wool. The corners had been moth-eaten, thus the design was created from a problem. The "Suzi’s Hang Art" method is a striking way to display hardanger, both older family treasures and ones that are newly created.
Latchook


Latch the Pony
   (16"x16"x1")
This is another thrift shop find. Many pieces of latchhook are left unfinished due to the many complications of completing them as pillows, or carpets. The "Suzi's Hang Art" is a quick and easy method to finish up the art pieces.
Linens

Butterflies Surrounded   (22"x22"x1")
Suzi "found" this doily at a garage sale. The "coronation" or "rapt thread" was commonly used around 1900. Suzi trapuntoed, quilted and finished it in the "Suzi’s Hang Art" method. Only you can make sure heirlooms will be finished and passed on to loved ones.
Longstitch

Rainbow Swan
   (8"x8"x1")
This was a garage sale find, another unfinished treasure. Suzi finished it with the "Suzi’s Hang Art" method. This is a nice way to display most textile art. Suzi did the framing process in less than 30 minutes.

Machine Embroidery

Mushrooms by Machine     (8"x10"x1")
This garage sale find had been glued onto cardboard. Suzi cut around the design and appliqued it onto another piece of white fabric. After quilting it and adding the slim peach border Suzi finished it in the "Suzi's Hang Art" method. Many charming pieces of machine embroidery are being left undisplayed.
Printed Fabrics

Home is Where the Heart Is   (12"x12"x1")
Many lovely pieces of art are printed onto fabric such as small table covers, dresser scarves, head scarves, and silk screen art as well as just interesting fabrics. "Suzi's Hang Art" is a quick, economical, "do-it-yourself" method for printed fabric art.
Tapestry

Belgium Tapestry     (25"x43"x1")
This is a another garage sale find. This method is a nice way to finish tapestry pieces which have special meaning due to being passed down as family heirlooms. A similar tapestry was used in the entry of the Campbell Museum Home in Spokane.

 

Trapunto

Trapunto I     (20"x20"x1")
Suzi made this trapunto in her first quilting class in El Cerrito, California. Roberta Horton was Suzi's original teacher in 1978 when she discovered her passion for quilting. This piece was done in the time consuming method of hand stitching the edging strip to the front and the back edge on all four sides of the art piece.
